Whats on Monday?
: While researching for the debate I came across an old article from the San Francisco Chronicle put out during the Gulf War. Among several interesting things they'd listed was the startling "fact" that the Assyrians were defeated finally by the CHALDEANS...not Medes and Babylonians or Scythians...but the Chaldeans, who it went on to say had the last great kingdom there, meaning the
: Neo-Babylonian empire of Nebuchadnazzer et al.
: Let this be a lesson to all our historians and scholars who hide behind closed forum doors, deleting what displeases them...what they can't manage to shoot down on the MERITS, and who faint at the mention of taking this Heritage out onto the world stage. "History" and "truth" are NOT written In Here, or by us. We aren't players yet...we are victims still, "martyrs" if it makes you feel better...and our history is being written for us by people who would DIE before allowing themselves to be called martyrs OR victims...as an ethnic identity I mean.
: The only "truths" which count, the only history anybody in the world will learn about us, especially among the general public, which in this approximation of a Democracy is the one that votes the money and bombs...is what is written about us and accepted and BELIEVED...out in the WORLD.
: Come on out and help write it. Monday night in Los Angeles an "introduction" is going to be written...one of "Us" is going to set one of "them" straight. In its own way it is an historical event, as tiny and unprepossesing as it may seem. It was only ONE shot they say had to be heard...but it had to be heard by the world.
