I read where to the Muslims it was Ishmael taken to the mountaintop to be sacrificed by his father...as to the Jews it was Issac. In both cases the Lord relented...an off day...and allowed father and son to hug and kiss in relief...though I for one would have never trusted such a father again...everytime he grabbed the butter knife I would have been out of that tent...off to college probably.

In Christianity however, it is the Lord hisself who insists the sacrifice be carried out. Joseph doesn't get any show. No one intercedes...well Pontius Pilate sort of does but he is a Roman and bound to be a bit more sympathetic than that old Fart of the Two Testicles.

It presnts quite a spectatcle. Peter says that Islam enshrines deceit and murder in its very system of beliefs...whereas Christianity does the opposite...apparently then Christianity is badly served by a legion of bloodthirsty and fornicating priests and officials all acting in its name...none of whom could find any sanction for what they do, so contrary is it to the "good" book. Whereas in Islam you have pious people committing murder and mayhem in strict accordance with islamic holy beliefs. As Gabriel said to the Lord..."Give me a break!"

Only in Christianity is the blood sacrifice carried out...only there does God get his wish...he was just kidding the other times. It still strikes me as a dubious and a grissly beginning to the religion of "Love". This is a love to die from.
