Faith has alot to do with this last part of your question. Faith is the opposite of proof. If you try to answer this question using a way to get to a concrete answer, the mystery of God disappears. It then becomes a quest for this pesky invisible thing that may or may not be there. Its a timeless (and awesome)question that I haven't a clue about how to approach.
