also, i give a damn about the people of Iraq. all of them. & this is how i came to care: i watched my father when i was in middle school & the Gulf "war" was broadcast all over the news. i watched my father get so caught up in what was being done, like it was the very air he breathed, i watched his eyes light up at familiar names mentioned, & i watched him tense up whenever a stupid news anchor flippantly described the bombings... all of this he saw with his own sad, sad eyes, trying to cope with it, almost disbelievingly. i love my parents, & since my father has almost died several times due to his now constant asthma (his asthma is so bad now that he has to travel 2 hours by car to get to a doctor that will actually take care of him without worrying that he'll be the next fatality statistic on their records) & my mom has very high blood pressure & i'm the older child, somewhere along the way i decided to take care of them. i want them to be so happy. i love them. moreover, how could those stupid kids & teachers in middle school make fun of Iraqis, make jokes about killing, "nuking" people they've never seen? all to my face, because i don't "look" like i'm Iraqi. so i'd sit there in class, pray for them to finish their with their stupidity, & cry when no one was looking, not even my parents. & this is how many children respond. it's not unusual for adolescents to try to hide emotion from their parents & peers... well, i'm sick of it. i'm sick of the idiocy, the dehumanizing media, the assholes who aren't stupid, they're just born jerks... i'm so tired of it all, & i want it all to go away because it's 2001, damnit, not 1283. we're supposed to be advanced, but we have no morals. this society knows no responsibility.
anyway, all the information i gave you as "campfire hero" is true, too.
