Jewish extremist groups urge Sharon to expedite Palestinian holocaust
By Sami Amir
Occupied Jerusalem:(IAP News) - Jewish extremist groups in the West Bank have urged the Israeli government to expedite Israel's present internecine war on the Palestinian population.
"This is the most opportune time to annihilate them (the Palestinian people,) we firmly control the United States government, the Arabs are very week, and the Palestinians are effectively vanquished," said Ya'acov Meimad, a high-ranking official in the Israeli settlement council of "Judea, Samaria and Gaza," known by its Hebrew acronym as "Yesha."
Speaking during a meeting of the heads of the Yesha council , which took place at the settlement of Bracha near Nablus Wednesday, 17 April, Meimad said the Jewish people shouldn't be concerned about international reactions to "a Jewish offensive against the Palestinians."
"We must pay attention to the Torah, and as we all know there are no human rights for goyem (non-Jews) in the Torah. We must therefore deal with the Palestinians the same way Joshua the Prophet dealt with their ancestors."
Several top leaders of the Gush Emunim, a messianic Jewish movement which combines Judaism and secular Zionism, attended the meeting, including Effi Eitam, head of the National Religious Party (NRP).
Eitam holds a Nazi-like ideology toward non-Jews in general and Palestinians in particular.
Two weeks ago he called for the annihilation of all Palestinians from "the land of Israel."
" In war, behave as in war, I can see that not many Arabs will remain hear."
The ideology of NRP and Gush Emunim is rooted in the writings of a number of radical rabbis, including Abraham Cook, who teach that the advent of the Messiah, or redeemer, must be preceded by wide-scale bloodshed.
Last week, messianic settlers reportedly were in an euphoric mood following the massacres of Palestinian refugees at the Jenin camp.
A settler rabbi from the settlement of Kiryat Arba'a, Yacov Ben David, told a local FM radio that "the redeemer is coming soon, what is happening in Jenin confirms that, so rejoice, every body, we are in the age of redemption."
