xxx I think that the right wing Israeli gov't wants Iraq to be fragmented into 3 states in the future, b/c this will effectively strip away any power a future governing entity in Iraq would have - a fragmented Iraq loses its economic clout... thus giving the Israeli government the military leverage it needs to continue to expand - Israel wants to remove the "challenge" it sees in, not only a unified Arab world, but in Saddam or any future Iraqi government as well.
