TAKE A STAND FOR PEACE AND DEMAND AN END TO WAR PROFITEERING!
NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION TUESDAY FEBRUARY 4th, 2003
On February 4th citizens across the nation will be joining Citizen Works and a diverse coalition in sending a clear message: no war for oil and corporate profits.
The oil and arms industries would be the key beneficiaries of the Bush administrationís planned war in Iraq. Letís demonstrate that we donít support a war driven by these interests that would endanger the lives of American soldiers and Iraqi citizens and cost taxpayers billions of dollars. Instead we need to develop a long-term plan to address our national security concerns and our dependence on foreign oil.
JOIN with concerned citizens around the U.S. in demanding that the Bush administration listen to the voices of Americans and not the interests of profit-hungry corporations.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
ORGANIZE an action for peace at your local gas station, on February 4th! On that day, at hundreds of gas stations across the country, we will demonstrate the popular demand for alternatives to war and our commitment to peace. Leafletting, vigils, street theater, and other forms of nonviolent direct action are all encouraged.
To organize an action in your area, contact the field team at Citizen Works (Katie firstname.lastname@example.org or Jen at email@example.com; 202.265.6164).
