The one unspoken, common error that will never be bridged and lies at the root of all this dividing nonsense is our assumption that Assyrian, Chaldean and the rest of it means ONLY Christian.
If we donīt recognize that we were all divided centuries ago into Christian and Muslim...and that when we talk of unity we must take it to mean unity as Christians and Muslims under the name of Iraq...then we arenīt getting anywhere and this Chaldean and Assyrian and Syriac and Presbyterian and Church of the East and Nestorian business is just a side-show for madmen and fools...something off to the side and completely irrelevant to the mainstream of what is happening in the MidEast.
Unity can only come when we all downplay religion...or, being in the minority, stop these foolish claims that Christians, as divided as they will ever be...are the one and only true inhabitants of that region.
So long as we speak as Christians first...we donīt matter a ratīs ass in the larger debate.
All this heavy breathing and name calling and finger pointing is being led by people with lots of spare time, to whom the argument has no practical consequences. ZOWAA is intent on maintaining a Christian presence for political reasons...they could care less about the welfare of the few Christians there with bullseyes painted on their backs. When the going gets tough the Whacki Rabi of Iraqi will move to San Jose and go to work directly under Jackie Bejan.
