: I view Iraq as a country which was quite advanced in the 70s and 80s... and which unfortunately was dragged and tricked into war with Iran thanks to the US. Then came the persian gulf war where the US ambassador told the Iraqis that the US wouldn't mind if he invaded Kuwait... then 12 years of genocidal sanctions (after the raping/killing of the country during the "war")...
