: Andreas, Can you provide me information as to how I can access information from the GRU like you do. I would appreciate it, Thanks.

+++ Hi Alexander,

You'll find the English translations of the GRU news at:

http://www.aeronautics.ru/news/news002/news079.htm

which will bring you at least to the latest issue.

In order to cut waiting time, simply type the report numbers directly into the URL, e.g. starting with yesterday's " 079 ".

But that's only the tip of the iceberg:

If you happen to read Russian, you can obtain the Russian original reports in a more timely manner from www.iraqwar.ru.

Those reports are updated on a regular basis and are usually 1-2 days ahead of their English translations.
Furthermore they're complemented by a wealth of other relevant topical material on that site.

See especially the columns:

a) ОПЕРАТИВНАЯ ИНФОРМАЦИЯ - "Operational Information" for background analysis of war tactics/strategies (if so ...) with regard to recent military theater operations; this is an intermittently published column
b) события дня - Events of the Day
c) новость часа - News of the hour
d) лента новостей - Newsticker
e) аналитика - Analyses

AND:

Additional worthwile info in Russian is available at:

http://www.irak.ru/

This is a very useful joint resource project set up by the "Analytical Directorate of the 1st Channel and the Electronical Paper Дни.ру."
