My Honour and my Dignity
A woman’s response to Patriarchy and Imperialism

My Honour and My Dignity are not located

Between my thighs.

Ceaseless attempts to rape my integrity

With blunt knives and sharp edged glass

Fail to shatter my optimism

And my pride.

You loathe who I am and you despise my capacity to indentify, and self

proclaim.

You abort my woman hood and circumcise my femininity

You who do not feel

You who cannot feel.

Stripped of my decency

I burn with fury and humiliation

Your armies violate my ancestral land,

Like a virgin being torn apart by an unwanted lover.

Your stupidity interrogates my wisdom

Your misogyny invades and I

capitulate.

Disabled but not broken

Muted but not silenced.

Bleeding but not wounded,

Surrendered but not defeated.

You who despise to feel.
