Freedom is more important...We'll hear some of these war fanatics say. Sure, they are just things...bronze, gold and silver trinkets that connected the past to the present...things that reminded all the people of that land that they all had one culture at one time. And now, they have vanished...They will resurface in 170,000 private homes, offices, websites, and cellars. Scattered around the world...Perhaps this is the ultimate accomplishment...The ancient Assyrians didn't make it around the world, but that was incidental to their moment in history...With enough patience and time, they made it.
I find it ironic that within the week that Baghdad was liberated, these war trumpeters got a slap in the face, a spit in the eye, a jostle into reality.
When you say, Asshur, that our people have no vision, I don't think you realize just how much truth you are speaking. It goes to their core and contaminates everything that comes out of them, word and deed.
May this experience humble these idiots. Somehow, I think it won't.
