I heard today on NPR that apparently someone looted the vaccination records from a hospital in Iraq - don't know which hospital.... But, this complicates the humanitarian situation if vaccination records were destroyed or stolen - even from one hospital.

Forget artifacts for a moment, & concentrate on the *people.* The media wants us to get upset over the artifacts. Don't you think there's been disproportionate coverage of the looting & destruction of artifacts compared to the coverage of the humanitarian disaster by the U.S. media? They'll do anything to take our eye off the prize - our *people* - all the people in Iraq who have suffered for so long.

Of course I care about the artifacts, but what good are artifacts when there's no one left to tell the world about what they really mean?
