Apparently there's more than one version of that hymn/protest song (lyrics by Lloyd Stone).... I think the 1st set of lyrics, above the article in the original post of this thread to myself, are the official version of "Finlandia" (lyrics by V.A. Koskenniemi), according to finfo (link below).

Like anyone cares about the variants of the song, anyway....

HERE'S the version Kathy Kelly was talking about, which is a bit altered from the one I posted just before this - this one just mentions God, but not "Christ" or God's "design". Very sneaky with the Christianity, there.... I suppose this version of the lyrics by Lloyd Stone will do for anyone who believes in one God. Notice, however, the official Finnish version doesn't mention God at all.

THIS IS MY SONG
by Lloyd Stone

This is my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for lands afar and mine.
This is my home, the country where my heart is;
Here are my hopes, my dreams, my holy shrine;
But other hearts in other lands are beating
With hopes and dreams as true and high as mine.

My country's skies are bluer than the ocean,
And sunlight beams on clover-leaf and pine.
But other lands have sunlight too and clover,
And skies are everywhere as blue as mine.
Oh, hear my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for their land and for mine.
