: & for the love of all things alive, will you, pancho, please stop talking trash about getting an education? That's what these kids need right now, or they'll never be in a position to affect any sort of change in the U.S. School is like anything else in life - it can affect anyone in numerous ways. & of course, like anything else you buy in this country, you're going to have to deal with the bullshit, false advertising that comes with the deal. & I know that school doesn't mean "education" necessarily, but for a lot of people it does. We need Harvard, Yale, Princeton, & MIT, & big liberal arts grads, etc. desperately. We need these people b/c they not only have an "education", but because they will have all the damned big connections this community needs to get anywhere. That's how this country works.

xxx Just think of the educational system as a tool, or a machine. We know how it works, so why not use it to get something good done for once? You've even said it before - that we need to fight this battle for our people using our minds, not swords.

xxx I'm just really angry right now. It'll go away, & I'll feel completely numb to everything until it comes back. BUT I hate feeling numb. I'd rather be angry than numb. Just like I'd rather be living an interesting, intellectually stimulating life ALONE than settle for being a middle or upper class soccer mom.
