xxx I think that after WWI, a few of the (Shia) Muslim men of faith in Basra grew rightfully suspicious of those Christians who were too involved with the British. My dad says my great grandfather, who was a very wise man, didn't let himself become a pawn for the British, & that is why the Muslim religious figures trusted him so much.
