xxx I wonder if Jeff was affected by the power outage? But he's only one person - I don't know what happens to everyone else....
xxx It's kind of funny, this power outage - it shows how much energy the U.S. is sucking up every moment of every day & how much the U.S. gov't could put money into streamlining certain energy wasters (e.g. replacing normal, incandescent halogen traffic lights with LED lights cuts energy by a lot) & upgrading the electric grid system, instead of, say, wasting money on corporate welfare for the defense industry.
xxx You know, an ice storm took out power (& caused a few serious landslides & lots of trees to fall, which affected many roads) around here for a week or 2 many years ago, & people managed just fine. It's so silly, all the attention that the national news gives this incident when people are struggling FOR REAL elsewhere....
