That's really interesting - what you say for yourself is true for me, too. The first time I sipped Coke was when I was really young, at one of my babysitters' houses. The carbonation burned my tongue so badly that I still, to this day, can not drink Coke. I drank a bit of other soft drinks occasionally at parties until I saw that tooth rot.... I don't drink soft drinks now-a-days. But, I got over the carbonation burn - I like to drink (carbonated) mineral water when I feel sick to my stomach.

Forget soft drinks - "Turkish" coffee is the best way to get a caffeine high. : )

Oh, my mom made me bring in some pet squirrels to that class, once. The kids liked that a lot. We were just raising the squirrels until they were old enough to strike out on their own. Our neighbor cut down the tree with their nest, & they didn't even have their eyes open yet. So, my mom, being the neighborhood wildlife expert, was asked to take care of them until they were mature. They were adorable.

& my dad showed my class strobe lights, & how you can watch water drops with a strobe.... It was so neat for the kids.

Come to think of it, my parents were really involved in my class' education, even though they both worked full time jobs. They must have wanted to spice up the curriculum, because they saw how boring it was, & just took matters into their own hands.
