: What he wants and what is practical are black and white in comparison, do you think Assyria would stand a chance in Iraq now?Turkey and US and even Russia will claim it first, after Iraq and Kurds and Turkoman and on and on pass their claims on.

xxx Yeah, Turkey is showing signs of possession of North Iraq....

xxx Like I said: see how long he lasts talking like that & living in Iraq. He's a BIG FAT nothing in the eyes of the U.S. government, or anyone else for that matter, so no one will care if he's offed. Once the Kurds or the Turks hear about him, they'll either laugh at him or kill him or both. What's worse is that he could spark all sorts of problems for the indigenous Assyrians he's living amongst.... The Kurds & Turks will treat him well to his face, but he should watch his back.

xxx The smartest thing this guy could do for the indigenous Assyrians in North Iraq would be to establish really strong, healthy, positive relationships with everyone in that neighborhood - be diplomatic. Otherwise, his helping out the local Assyrians & helping to communicate their needs to the rest of the diaspora is a good thing, though I don't know about the religious stuff he's into - that should be kept personal unless people *want* to change.
