A Genocide Conference in San Jose

Greetings and Shlama,

On behalf of the Assyrian American Association of San Jose I am pleased to announce that on Saturday, September 27, 2003 we will be co-hosting a very informative lecture featuring Mr. Stavros Stavridis of La Trobe University
(Melbourne, Australia). The topic of this lecture will be the first Genocide act of the 20th century, the "Forgotten Genocide of the Assyrians, Armenians, and the Greeks of the Asia Minor".

Mr. Stavridis has spent much of the last few years of his work researching the Australian, British, and the U.S. State Department archives, and carefully documenting the facts surrounding one of the most horrific acts of ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Turkish State (1914-1923) against the three Christian ethnic groups, specifically the least known people, the
Assyrians.

Mr. Stavridis is in process of completing a new book titled "Assyrians do exist" which will be published in the near future. Needless to say, such interest from a non-Assyrian in our history is an exceptional opportunity for all of us to embrace, and I hope that you will join us in this unique opportunity to not only learn, but to also encourage such scholarly work and scholars, such as Stavros Stavridis.

In addition, I am honored to let you know that the Consul General of the Consulate of Greece will also be attending this lecture as our guest, and I hope that you will join us in welcoming him as well as our key note speaker, Mr. Stavros Stavridis.

For details and ticket information, please review the attached file, and please pass this e-mail to all interested individuals. Please act today as
space in limited! Thank you and I look forward to seeing you on the 27th.

With warmest regards,

Jacklin Bejan
