You haven't lived till you've taken a long long ride in the moonlight thru the center of the place where the Mexican Revolution started. Delores Hidalgo specifically where the tocsin was rung by a catholic priest later executed.

To amble over the sagebrush and cacti...the Mesquite trees and sweeping willows down by where you cross the river...out past the cornfields where the odd burro is grazing, to a sleepy old village you can't get to by anything but back roads...to dismount by the one little shop and get a cold beer...sit there by your horse while the kids and yapping dogs peek out from behind cactus fences...smiling and curious.

And good old Whiskey...strong enough to carry me hours on end...lope along a trail...dead run in one or two places...knowing they'll just leave you where you fall cause you'll bury yourself.

Something exhilarating about rambling along at what seems like great speed...trusting the horse to pick his way in the almost dark.

It's a good break form all this nutsiness.
