: : hey guys,
: : the silk road festival was great!!
: : the assyrians performed pretty well. we didn't have a full house in the tent but they put on a good show. they sang some church songs and then some wedding/folk songs. and no performance is complete without a rendition of "bagiyeh." yours truly went down to the stage and danced with the two other assyrians while the choir sang the song. it was pretty cool. i have some pics and if i find a scanner i'll send them to el jefe and they may be uploaded to this good ol' site.
: WISH I could have been there.
: Knowing that you swear better than any Assyrio-Chaldoyoyyoyoyoyo I've ever met, I can only imagine how well you "cut a rug" up on the stage. Is that the right, old expression...Fred?
>> yeah jeff you would have loved it. it was a pretty good festival. they had performances from like kazakhstan and turkmenistan and turkey and all these other countries we cannot pronounce or spell. but the assyrians were the best i swear. people started clapping and getting into it when we did the wedding songs and all. of course when i danced i messed up like hell cuz i CANT DANCE FOR THE LIFE OF ME. :) but it was fun. how's your summer job going?
