++++Of course there is...the entire book teaches us that a god can demand this sort of thing...why can't a mother sacrifice her children as well...why can't a country sacrifice its own young men and women...it's "dear" children too? Why not?

+++God sanctions it by setting the example himself...who needs to be told any more after that? If god had shown that he would rather suffer any injury himself rather than kill the innocent...to cover his own fuck up...especially his own child....we would at least had that for an example of what a god is like...and to what we should aspire.... Instead we get this butcher and make ourselves insane after 2000 years of following his example.
