I was in his office the day he mentioned a dinner at his home at which Rob Morse was present along with some other interesting intellectual types. As we were talking a call came from Morse to thank Narsai for the evening and to suggest a meeting...in order to discuss the Assyrian situation...Morse felt the subject warranted at least one full article. Obviously this is another example of white folk being drawn into our story.
This is the kind of thing a Nimrod or a Golani would NOT encourage because they couldn´t carry on a sustained, coherent conversation with a man from the serious Media...not from the Assrin Star...where anything you want to say in whatever barbarous tongue you choose will do because you are Assyrian, and that´s enough.
You all can thank yoors trooly for Narsai´s even being drawn back into the Assyrian community...or making his own place in it. When we first met he´d sworn off ever having anything to do with the nuts and dolts of our community. It was thanks to Art...yeah baby...OUR art that he got back into it at all...which led to his having the collection of bronzes he has in his home...where people like Julia Childs and Rob Morse and Saul Zaentz can see and hear about us.
