...because you don't see any mention of it in the mainstream media.

http://rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/npr/stream/av_wl_npr/myyahoo/*http://www.npr.org/ramfiles/me/20020829.me.02.ram

According to this NPR story, (they have a correspondent in Northern Iraq), there are thousands of Turkish soldiers with tanks, helicopters, etc. in 3 main areas of N. Iraq, and the Kurdish leader Barzani recently said publicly that they must leave, or they will be considered an occupying force. Meanwhile, the Turkish red crescent (the Muslim equivalent of the Red Cross) is stockpiling tents and other supplies in preparation for an expected stream of refugees out of N. Iraq if there is a large scale war.

SO, you have:
The US vs. Iraq?
Iraq proper vs. Northern Iraq?
Turkey vs. Northern Iraq
US vs. Northern Iraq?
Turkey vs. Iraq proper?

What other countries will be involved in these wars? I suppose the only thing that is noteworthy is that our people will suffer, regardless of the outcome...unless there is no war.
