: : NPR also had a report recently that the US gov't will be warning the Israeli gov't before it attacks Iraq. So, one way to gauge the likely start of the "war" is to watch the Israeli public - when they start wearing gas masks in the streets, you can be sure that the "war" will be coming soon.
: xxx Something also really noticeable is that the Israeli gov't is hyping a US "war" on Iraq to its own population, trying to make Saddam sound "bad," by implying that Saddam will attack Israel when the "war" commences. The Israeli gov't does this by warning the Israeli public that they will need gas masks "just in case." Of course, any semi-reasonable person will guess that Saddam would not do such a thing b/c 1.) he has no significant amount of weapons left, including biological or chemical, & no nuclear weapons at all & 2.) Israel & the US have nuclear weapons w/ which they will strike if Saddam so much as waves a scud at Israel.
