Look I realize what first comes into your minds when you hear this..."who needs staues at a time like this"? Same thing people said years ago before the Gulf War...they felt we had way too many "pressing" problems for silly statues.

I would remind you that we are known at all because of our sculpture...and that nothing of that time long ago remains except our art...so don´t underestimate the power of art and symbols and gestures...this is not a silly thing at all.
