Why do people change at all? Maybe change was normal for the ancient Assyrians... maybe, like the Japanese, they embrace change. The Japanese have changed, absorbed other cultures CONTANTLY over their history. The Assyrians have changes SO MUCH in their history: I see them as the Japanese or Americans of their era. They were flexible.
Not that I necessarily agree with the change...........
