Sorry, Sankho, but I'm a peacenik through-and-through. If someone like Saddam is in power & *if* the UN sincerely believes that he poses a threat to the world community, then the UN can find a way to keep Saddam in check. If that means stationing permanent weapons inspectors in Iraq & monitoring everything he or his scientists buy, then so be it. BUT, there is no argument that can convince me to want any war, & I also want the sanctions lifted, b/c we know that those sanctions don't affect Saddam & his cohorts. I think of war, & I think about my relatives being in the line of fire. I think about the descendants of all those kids my Assyrian great-grandparents struggled to save from slavery &/or death, & I can feel confident that my great-grandfather, who was a very wise man, is speaking through me, telling me not to want this war.
