I never saw the movie...I remmeber the stir it made...almost as much as "Deep Throat"...which brought porno to the mall. I have to admit I steered away because I don't want to know what goes inside a Hollywood prison.

But I find it interesting that in all this commentary, no one mentioned American prisons...from what we know, Attica, in New York...Riker's Island...also in New York and several other prisons where sadistic guards are the norm and murder and rape and vile conditions no surprise...are every bit as bad if not worse..and there are people sentenced to prison for years for non-violent crimes and fairly minor infractions..and we must be the only countrey that will hold onto a 16 year old till he's old enough to fry...and also execute mentally retarded and those guilty of being poor and Black.

And the comment that your rights don't travel with you...is really cute. Like Americans believe there's a halo that protects them wherever they go..and also sanctifies their murders wherever they kill innocent children "for policy reasons"

I think Turks are also afraid of visiting America.
