320 Palestinian children in Israeli prisons under worst conditions

Beirut, Oct 28, IRNA -- Al-Hayat international Arabic daily in its
Monday edition wrote that 320 Palestinian children and young adults
aged between 12 to 17 are currently imprisoned in Israel under
extremely inhumane conditions.
In an article by Mohammad Sharfan, the daily added, "The news is
based on an international human rights organization focussing on the
denied rights of the Palestinian children and young adults, that has
published its reports following observing the conditions of the
Israeli prisons where they are cooped up.
Sharfan adds, "The Israeli prison keepers have severed all contact
of these children with the outside world which has made life extremely
tough for them, particularly keeping in mind their age range."
According to the report by those who have seen the prisons in
question, each 11 Palestinian children and young adults are kept in
one four-square meter cell in which minimum facilities are at their
disposal.
They are not allowed to take showers, wear clean clothes, or visit
their family members.
Al-Hayat adds, "The accusations brought up against the Palestinian
children include throwing stones, or Molotov cocktail to the Israeli
soldiers, and they have been imprisoned following extra-judiciary,
summary trials at Zionist military courts."
Sharfan who is himself the lawyer of the Palestinian children,
concludes, "The disciplinary forces at the Israeli prisons where these
children are kept keep violating all internationally recognized human
rights in dealing with them, including torturing them in all possible
ways that one can imagine, and I am ashamed to refer to."
