...nice and all but there`s still an undercurrent of "mistakes were made" that obscures the naked, simple truth to what`s been going on for decades in American foreign policy. People, like this author, seem to believe that America, gee whiz, is REALLY trying hard to get it right and clean up the neighborhood.

Whenever Saddam is mentioned as that cruel dictator with the hard grip...no one goes on to mention how many of these types America had and has now on its payroll...no one mentions the School For The Americas when they`re complaining about "mistakes made" and "avoidable blundres"...it`s like everyone is talking "Plausible Deniability".-.that catch phrase from Reagan`s daze...meaning..."let`s leave a way to lie our way out of this".

After describing what the Brits did in Iraq...what kind of governing body did they expect? In the wake of all this turmoil..who NOW do they expect to emerge from Fallujeh....Abe Lincoln?

These articles which so "cleverly" skewer American "blunders" are frustrating ultimately because they refuse to connect the dots..they leave you trying hard to believe that this is all a bunch of avoidable errors by well-meaning but too-hasty-to-do-good college graduates. The truth is that when you want chaos...when that`s you aim...you don`t NEED a detailed, step by step policy.

To believe America wants a strong and free and united and peaceful and prosperous MidEast is to believe Bill Gates wants to give Larry Ellison every chance to compete freely and openly with Maxigrip. That`s just not the way it`s done.

And where`s Omar Shariff with those gorgeous eyes...talk about your gooey petroleum!
