you`re right, there is nothing outlandish in what he say regarding the similarities of Christ`s better teachings to what the Assyrians and others in BetNahrain were already practising...Jesus was trying to enlighten his fellows and we all know what that will get you...ahem.

It would be far more accurate, though it wouldn`t make Parpola any friends among us savages, to say that Assyrians could not possibly have dropped their own religion to go follow someone who had himself been influenced and taught by them...as it is not accurate to say Utnapishtim is the Sumerian Noah( for Noah is a Jew and came AFTER), Utnapishtim is the Sumerian UTNAPISHTIM...he cannot be anything else, you aren`t a copy of something that came way after you did...NOAH is the Hebrew version of Utnapishtim (because he comes after and is clearly a copy)...THERE! I think I finally got it right.

The similarities all flow in one direction...Christ`s teachings FOLLOW Ashur...there is no way in the world the people of Ashur would follow someone who was following Ashur for they were already doing that themselves...why the middleman? Why not just stay where they already are and let the Jews catch up?

While their philosophy may have overlapped in places...it took Roman brutality to convert them over to Christianity, which by the time the Romans picked it up, was as savage a thing as they were. They sure as hell didn`t adopt it because it was "almost the same" as their State religion. They used it as a device to raise the children of those they murdered and enslaved...raised them to be THANKFUL for it! Taught them they`d been SAVED---who cared what it took.

And it works too...look at Afro-Americans who all KNOW they were stolen, enslaved and raped into Christianity...yet they all rejoice in their forced conversion to the rapists religion anyway...everyone knows damn well they never would have converted on their own and et many a missionary who tried it. Do you see what a powerful mind-fuck it is? Try to imagine what you would have to leave behind in the body or mind of a person you raped to make them glad of it after...and if not them exactly then their CHILDREN. What toy can I possibly leave behind with the child who witnessed me rape his or her mother? "Eternal Life" maybe? And THAT`S why the symbollic cannibalism...to leave you a savage as well and force you to participate in this awful ritual...just to make sure you`re "theirs".

Somewhere in the hoary past there may be some evidence of Roman forced conversions...though of course if the Romans are going to blame the Jews for killing Christ and do it for 1500 years right up to the gates of Auschwitz...they`re not about to leave any records lying around...they`re going to lay the converstions to Christianity, which all suspiciously happened among the people living on the sides of the roads they built for their armies...at the feet of the people themselves.

It took Martin Luther, backed by Princes who were tired of seeing their treasure and their own people`s obedience still flowing to Rome, to finally break the illusion. But hell, HE was Christian too.

And just to juice it up a little...I bet our own Christians were far more persecuted by other Christians than they ever were by Muslims. We KNOW Christian was killing Christian...heretic killing heretic in Byzantium...we know many were exiled to Syria and Iraq where they continued to crack each other over the head for Christ till the Muslims came and threw out the chief cracker, the Eastern Roman Emperor and then forced the warring Christians to reach an accomodation...they could still hate each other "for Christ"...as they still do...but they`d have to obey the civil laws Islam imposed...why do you think the area finaly flourished and then grew into magnificence again?

Had Islam not come there would have descended on Iraq a Dark Age imposed by those same Romans...instead under Arab guidance the Assyrians AND many Christian Assyrians put aside their mad pursuit of the REAL Jew...and got down to the buisness of building Baghdad of the 1001 Nights and Haroun al Rashid and all the splendor that was Assyria was transformed and enhanced, modernized and made courageous and taken out on tour again...this time to Europe and beyond. And everywhere it went, just as in the past, it brought light and learning and architecture and science and medicine and poetry and art and soap...just as it had always done...while forcibly converted Christians remained huddled in filth in Christian Europe...and our boys hate all that accomplishment because it was done under a different god than theirs...who only barely managed to get himself killed and then all of his followers as well...down the centuries...by the same people who killed him...the Holy Roman Christian Empire.

But not for our boys. They`re glad as hell those pagan Assyrians died with their Ashur and they`re equally glad Muslim Assyrians are being killed today. You can see by their behavior today what they would have been doing in Iraq all these centuries had the Arabs not come..they`d still be piss poor...arguing over Bishops...as they were in 700 AD.

THANK Ashur for Muhammad...Jesus about did us in...and his followers are STILL at it.
