even in this article there`s the undertone of, "they blundered and miscalculated". If you persist in believing the United States tried to do something positive in Korea, Vietnam, Grenada and now Iraq...but didn`t think it through..then I suppose that`s the way you`re going to see everything.
If you look at what actually happened..and the response to it...and the consequences of that response..and balance that against the knowledge that enormous fortunes were made...you see the picture.
War pays..it pays handsomely...to a few. But then fewer and fewer people are controlling our wealth and planet and outer space.
If corporations were TAXED extra heavily when the nation went to war..you`d see little to no enthusiaam for bringing "democracy" to other nations. The fact that Liberation, Freedom and Democracy all come at the end of a gun barrel and are wafted aloft on missles, ten million dollars a pop....tells you why we always wind up murdering people in order to improve the quality of their lives.
There`s a lot of money to be made fighting terrorists..there isn`t any fast cash to investing in real education or health care...bottom line, you know.
