...we've been having back and forth with the abuse people at this site over XXXX XXXXX. Tomorrow is the deadline to shut us down. We've agreed to everything they asked except removing XXXX XXXXX'X posts where she itself used her own name...this response is my last word on the subject...they can do what they want....

Dear Abuse Person,

We have already Xd out her name from all posts written by ANYONE that used her real name. The only two instances where her name appears are in the headings of HER OWN posts...which SHE placed there HERSELF. It was her choice to use her real name...no one made her do it.

It is not our policy to clean up after adults...we expect them to be careful and think before they post...not to hurl whatever they want when they're drunk or stoned or had a bad day and then come back DEMANDING we remove what THEY placed. I think this is a far better policy otherwise you encourage people to be irresponsible...and we'd rather not do that...there is enough infantilism on the web...why not encourage people to think twice...or once even...before they post something? Isn't that better for everybody?

If you cave in to this chronically unstable person you simply open the doors to every other one to come to you complaining after what was all their OWN decision...let THEM take care of their names and reputations...why must you or I do it for them? Let your policy be that people must not open THEMSELVES up to abuse by revealing their own identities...if they fear such a thing. That will make them have to be more responsible...or suffer the consequences themselves. What could be more fair or reasonable?
