..they´re back to business at aina...the really important stuff...when they aren´t going to Assyria, "in my mind"...and parcelling it off and fighting with each other over who gets that stream or tree...they´re at their old game..."Jews For Jesus"...now they´ve got a trained seal named "Patriarch" and they´re full of his praises...eats raw fish while floating or something.

The Seal in question belongs to the Patriarch of the Church of the East - Kochanos branch. During my researched in the British Documents I did find this Seal among the correspondences of the British Consul at Mosul. I did send a study regarding the origin of the Chaldean Church to the gathering of the clergy of the Church of the East and the Chaldean Church in Beirut few years ago, among which was a copy of the Seal. At the same time I did send a personal copy to each Bishop with a personal one to the late Bishop Mar Yousif Tomas who (seemingly) gave a copy of the Seal to Mr. Benjamin Haddad, who did publish it in his late book about Alqush.
The Seal however, reveal the following facts:

1- The term Chaldean was not applied to those who joined the See of Rome from the Nestorians members of the Church of the East whether they were followers of Mar Shimun or Mar Elia of Alqush.

2- Those who joined the Catholic faith before 1844 were known as “Mshehayi”. This term is well expressed in the biography of Mar Yohanan Hormzd Aboona (1860 – 7838), the founder of the present-day Chaldean Church, which was published by George Badger in his (Nestoriaans and their Rituals).

3- Meanwhile the Seal of Mar Elia at the Monastery of Rabban Hormzd, which is the original line, refer to the “Patriarch of the Church of the East” only

4- Thus, the term Chaldean in the mentioned Seal is not associated with the Chaldean of the antiquity as much as it is a reference to the birthplace of the Church of the East in Saliq- Ctesaphon to the south of Baghdad which replaced Babylon.
5- The Line of Mar Shimun came to existence as a result for internal dispute in 1580.

Regards
