some Christian from Canada was beaten by Iraqis!!! That`s the way this is received by the boys. No mention or mention allowed of the Christians killed by the Americans...no mention still of Majdolin`s eyes and her murdered children...done to death by American Liberators...no discussion of these numerous crimes but then luck smiled on the boys...to weeks ago another man was "insulted" and today a Christian claiming to be Assyrians..who went back there to see what he could get for his "rights"..was kidnapped and beaten...terrible but wonderful too.

never mind that he was released with a ebating..there are 500,000 dead children at least who would have been happy to receive a beating instead..and live to see their birthday parties...but this man is a special case now..proof that Iraqis are MEAN...real MEAN!

Makes you sick. Of course no one wants him kidnapped and beaten...the Iraqis weren`t the ones to announce that a new policy called for the death of 5000 children a month..it was the Americans with our boys cheering..and here they come with this poor bastard who went back to "help the Iraqi people"...and they were so UNGRATEFUL as to beat him!!!

Canadian hostage beaten by captors
Aid worker in Iraq freed after nine days

Matthew Fisher
CanWest News Service

Saturday, April 17, 2004

A Canadian aid worker freed by his Iraqi captors Friday in the Shia holy city of Najaf said he was "miserable, desperate" and beaten by those who kidnapped him on April 7 because they suspected he was Jewish.

...how many were shot in America and kicked off of airplanes and thrown in jail because they were suspected of being Dark?

"At first they beat me, then they kept moving me to different locations every few hours," Fadi Fadel said moments after being freed. "They accused me of being a Jew."

...so what? Did you think it was a picnic there when you went to "aid" the people?

Another problem was that those who seized the 33-year-old Montrealer from his bed in a compound run by his New York-based employers, International Rescue Committee, was that they apparently did not believe that Fadel really was a Canadian.

...Gee...those Iraqis sure are a suspicious bunch..imagine not trusting Western Christianity...especially those from New York who came to help the poor Iraqi people...

Canada's embassy in Jordan worked through intermediaries in Iraq to establish contact with Fadel's abductors, a previously unknown group calling itself Ansan al-Din. The embassy in Jordan provided the intermediaries with information which proved Fadel was a Syrian-born Assyrian Catholic who emigrated to Canada in 1990 and has been a Canadian citizen for several years.

..he is NOT Assyrian...he is a Christian from Syria...doesn`t get more romantic than that..sorry.

In taped comments after his release, Fadel said he was "doing OK."

...we would wish the fate of those who beat you could be that secure. Now you can go back to Canada and go to church.

"I'm in great company, I've had food and am getting washed and getting new clothes. So I'm pretty happy."

...that`s why you went wasn`t it...to bring happiness?

Back home in Laval, Que., his family cheered the news.

...they didn`t cheer in Iraq for 13 years while their children died of starvation...

And, as a tearful Roueida Fadel stood outside her home recounting a surprise telephone call about 11 a.m., her husband Ihsan Fadel shouted to his wife: "Come, come!"

She rushed inside to see images of her smiling son on an all-news channel.

...that`s wonderful for her..now let her smiling son go home where he belongs...it isn`t child`s play in Iraq. The only aid the people ever needed was before this thing started.

After seen the TV images, she said he "looks well, he's smiling and laughing -- the way he was the last time I saw him. He seems in good health. He has a little beard. I guess he hasn't had time to shave.

...he tried but they kept beating him...it`s tough out there.

"I want to see him here in this house. He will rest a little with us and we can discuss what he will do next," Roueida Fadel said.

...maybe there`s a little war somewhere else he can go help with...are you people Spanish by any chance? Want to be? There are some nice fields outside of Madrid...in Basque territory you could claim.

"We stayed optimistic through prayer. We had hope," she said.

...that`s nice. No wonder they thoght your sonm was Jewish..you pray to Yahwe...you can forgive them.

At first Fadel's capture received little media notice in Iraq and across the Middle East. Arab media were focused on the twin uprisings against the U.S. occupation in the Sunni city of Falujah and several cities in Iraq's Shia heartland and the dramatic videotape of three Japanese hostages with knives held to their throats.

..better luck next time.

Tens of millions of Arabs learned of Fadel's plight when Al-Jazeera, the hugely popular Qatar-based Arab satellite news network, agreed to let Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham speak with them about his case Tuesday.

There may have been a connection between Fadel's release and a sermon several hours earlier at Friday prayers in Najaf where fugitive Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr told thousands of his devoted followers that they should not mistreat those they kidnapped and that they should release any hostages who came from a country that was not part of the U.S.-led military coalition in Iraq.

...that`s nice..US Military leaders were at the same time learning the uses of torture...but they`re Christians doing Christ`s work by fighting the Evil people who refuse to torture..it get`s confusing...

There remains some confusion over exactly how Fadel was freed. Some wire service accounts said he had been released at al-Sadr's office in Najaf, which is in a medieval district of the holy city.

Other reports said that Fadel had been handed over to al-Sadr's representatives in a cemetery in Najaf and then taken to al-Sadr's office.

...you boys work that one out...we`d rather know how you justify being there in the first place.

Graham said Friday the government is trying to ensure that the final phase of Fadi Fadel's liberation from Iraq isn't compromised by the U.S. marines who have their weapons trained on the Najaf compound where he has found refuge.

...you can`t keep those Liberators from liberating...

Some 2,500 American troops are massed outside Najaf in a tense standoff.

...well Democracy requires overtime pay.

Graham said there are two or three options under consideration to get him safely out of Najaf, and eventually Iraq. He would not get into the details and wouldn't say whether he has spoken to U.S. officials to guarantee Fadel's safety.

..ONE little beating and a small beard later and he no longer wants to help win his NATIONAL RIGHTS in his GRAT NAYSHUN??? Gee..I wonder why Muslim Assyrians are sticking it out?

"There's no immediate problems with his present security. Obviously leaving and travelling becomes complicated and dangerous in Iraq. So we want to make sure he travels by a route, and by a means, that is most secure," said Graham.

...yes well..no one wants to see you brave Liberators and friends of the downtrodden get hurt. You are after all pretty valuable people.

Graham said he's convinced that the Ottawa's Arab media blitz secured Fadel's release.

Prime Minister Paul Martin called Fadel's brother just before noon Friday to confirm media reports that he had been released.

"I told them how happy I was," Martin told reporters in Toronto.

As of Friday night, there was still no word about Nabil George Razuq, a Palestinian Christian who was seized at the same time as Fadel.

Three Czech journalists were released by their captors Friday, but a Danish businessman was kidnapped Friday on a road north of Baghdad and a Jordanian-born business man on a United Arab Emirates passport was seized by men posing as police officers at a hotel in the southern city of Basra.

...no one tells us what their "buiness" is...no need to, we all know. People are getting their contracts early...with any luck though ZOWAA will get what it has coming.

Earlier in the week, the U.S.-led Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq said 40 foreigners from 12 countries had been kidnapped.

...500,00 Iraqi children have been killed.

"From a security point of view, it is not in our interest to provide a tally here of how they (the kidnappers) are doing," because to do so might advertise whether they were being successful or not, said Dan Senor, the CPA's top spokesman in Iraq.

...which just admitted that they are being successful..whether you want to tell their parents or not.

There might be some "loose co-ordination" between some of the groups kidnapping foreigners, but the U.S. military did not know if there was a co-ordinated campaign to seize foreigners, Brig.-Gen. Mark Kimmitt said Friday.

..the US Military didn`t know the Berlin Wall was coming down...the US Military didn`t know what to make of Arab pilots in American studying how to bank a jumbo jet and "never mind the landing gear...wullah". American Intellignece was shocked when the Soviets finally groaned to a crash..despite all America did to keep them going. They don`t know what they don`t need to know and don`t know what they need to know..that doesn`t leave them knowing much.

The U.S.-led coalition was doing all that it could to find those who had been kidnapped, Senor said.

...sure...they`re beside themselves with grief...
