...I think you have a problem with anger...I sure as hell don`t. Anger, like fear and pain and pleasure is a normal healthy thing put in us for a reason...a damn good one too. What you do is suppress everything normal to make yourself into a cartoon saint..of course having done so you trash the perceptions by which you`d know what I was talking about. Anger scares you...you think it`s bad..that it leads to violence. It can..but what we`re witnessing is the violoence of people who DON`T feel anger...who don`t know what it is...who see themselves instead as "compassionste" Christians and fair-mind and even-tempered...but are just dead emotionally so they CAN kill with a smile. We darkies have always been over impressed by the coldness of the White man..we thought it meant they figured it all out..that they had grown beyond emotions and garlic and screaming when they fuck...we never realized they were just stone cold dead.

I am trying to see not just what is true or false, but I’m trying to understand how all of this is helping anyone, Christian, Moslem, Jew, whomever.

...you go help people...I`m working on myself.

I understand the anger. I’m angry too. So what? What good does it do, to vent. I’m angry that religion has to be thrown into any discussion of our people. Religion is a stumbling block and always will be. I don’t have an axe to grind against anyone, regardless of their religious or non-religious persuasion (that’s their business), and I respect their right to believe whatever they want.

...you wouldn`t say that if the person holding his dick in your child`s face said he believed his god said it was okay. Stop being pedantic and moronic too...there are plenty of good reasons to be angry..it`s assinine to say you shouldn`t FEEL. Anger begins things...the Colonists got angry...Jesus got PLENTY angry...Ghandi got angry...Martin Luther King got angry...Malcolm X got REAL angry...Germaine Greer got angry...Shulamith Firestone got angry...anger is a healthy reaction to opppression and injustice..also lying and wanton murder...you really think we should all SMILE!!! But...it`s a starting point. It`s brought me a long way to understanding and figuring things out...and THAT`s the part that scares you about it...anger can lead to change...all you do is look at the first floor of a 45 storey building and say..."I don`t see how this will work...where`s the penthouse I wanted"?

...But you`re cute.

Sure, we are all guilty of saying stupid things at one time or another. Sometimes we learn from our stupid mistakes, sometimes we just get more stupid. I want to gain a better understanding, not from the people I agree with, what profit is there in that? I’m tired of the back-slapping, I’m tired of the “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,” mentality, so common among all people.

...it seems you don`t mind being tired...try getting angry too...might give you the energy and determination to go deeper and last longer...can`t hurt your love life either...if you need one.

But how do you help a people, like the Assyrians, who feel so defeated, are fed the milk of defeatism from infancy, by beating them down even more? And when the rod that you beat them with is their religious belief, then you are only going to make them more bitter, resentful and violent.

...not beating any Assyrians down...I`m beating stupid Christians OFF of us...giving an alternative...like the Ashurbanipal Monument is another manifestation of us and a true one because it has nothing to do with a knock-off of Judaism..if you people are going to stop claiming being Christian is the ONLY way to be Assyrian...then embrace our Muslim brothers and sisters and stop urging on their destruction. Till then you are all playing office.

> It’s wonderful to be insightful, intellectually honest and profoundly wise, but if it is not helping others to rise above their problems, then maybe it really only proves, that we, the critics, are vain, self-seeking people, trying to inflate our own self-image.

...this is ever your song and that of your church...as long as people are pig-ignorant and easy to manipulate you say nothing and reap the rewards...as soon as they look around them and get angry and then defiant and then start the long arduous process of getting back their honor and picking up from where you threw thim into a church cellar, you say..."my my..what big egos are involved here...how fruitless it all is etc". I know you aren`t speaking to me...you`re "agonizing" again in public in hopes of stemming a tide you think may just wash you over you one of these days...good luck.

Say whatever you will about the Assyrian people, true or untrue, but, after you’ve stripped away all the labels, all the epithets, all the criticism, all the anger and frustration, they are just as human as anyone else, just as deserving of compassion, understanding and forgiveness too.

...if you will include Muslim Assyrians then you are close to correct...if this is just more Christian shit hiding behind our Assyrian name and identity which had and has nothing Christyian about it...try again.

Instead of condemning them for the stupid things they say or do, shouldn’t some of us ask, “what can I do to help them?” Criticism can be beneficial if it is given in a spirit of good will, but if it is only done with the intent to beat a dead horse, then what is its real, true purpose?

...been there done that...I worked my ass off...so have others...to honor our heritage and when they didn`t want to help no one got angry or expected them to...but when they tried to shoot us down...that was another thing entirely...they didn`t succeeed and never will...but just the fact they TRIED reveals what they`re about...these people get kicked from pillar to post for good reason..both by me and everyone who`s ever done it to them..they are cowards who will also stab you in the back, they betray our homeland for a Jew every chance they get..and just did it again. I feel sorry for them but my heart and compassion goes out to those they harmed..the truly innocent Assyrian Muslims and their Christian brothers and sisters...in BETNAHRAIN..

> Every group of people on this planet has experienced something about their history that is unique, and they naturally view their group with a certain pride, as unique and interesting. The world would be a very dull place if everything was the same everywhere.

…no it wouldn`t be,…if there was peace everywhere it would be a very exciting place to live…no one is saying we all have to be the same..but we ALL are one family who could use some peace and clean water.

Everyone, therefore, struggles to raise themselves up to a level where they feel that they are accepted as a member of the human family.

…is that what you think Bush, Cheney and the Army and Navy and Marine Corp and Air Force and Special Forces did in Iraq…in Vietnam…in Korea…in Guatemala and Chile and Cuba and and and and….

So, unless, we are all going to live in seclusion, we must find a way for everyone to attain a just level of dignity as equal members of the human family. This means everyone, period!

…that`s what we`re working on…there was plenty of oil in America but a few want even more profit..they can`t come out and say that so they bring EVIL into it and pretty soon we`re hating and killing for god again..because god is GOOD.

...It`s funny how you understand everything except the nature of the problem…you see the streets wet,,,but don`t admit the presence of rain…you see the streets run with blood and say it must be raining...…and of course you want us all to make nice because YOU can afford it and hate having your afternoon tea ruined by all this "hate".

But, why must Assyrians be any different? In my opinion the greatest harm that has been visited upon our people is the rejection they feel as an invisible people. Rightly or wrongly, they have been taught from the cradle that they are the descendants of the Ancient Assyrians.

…no they haven`t. For centuries they had no more idea of the existence of Gilgamesh than anyone else did…it came as a surprise to them as well…all they knew is what they are now…all they talk about and do now…they are and were Christians converted by the Roman Empire and then set to fighting among each other…they are new to the Assyrian nonsense but fell for it hook line and sinker because the church thought of a way to make itself dominant as a minority with anchient rights…when the ancients were never Christians and had no use for a doctrine that says you must crawl your way to salvation…who needs salvation anyway except the Hebrews who REALLY needed it…as well as a bath.

Conversely, and rightly or wrongly, they have been told by most of the world that they are not Assyrians, ergo, they are nothing; they have no right to self-rule, sovereignty or anything else.

…you cannot make a “nation” of a religious sect or identity or group of denominations. Those days are long gone…nations today are made up of everybody and their cousins..the last time people talked about “purity of blood” we got Auschwitz…courtesy of Christianity.-…”oh why do you HATE Christians so”? As them why they hated Jews enough to cook them and eat them too.

Why? Because we are too few. “Just die out, blend in, assimilate, stay out of our hair, you’re screwing up our foreign policy.”

…they ARE blending in and assimilating in the West and LOVING it..their children more than happy to get away from this embarrassment their parents make them endure…we can do anything we want to in the West and in the last 100 years there are TWO Assyrian, not Christian, monuments anywhere in the world. Our interest in being Assyrian is skin deep because WE are skin deep as Assyrians…but our interest in being Christian runs to the bone because we ARE Chritians and nothing more to the marrow…since we hate being called Arabs and feel that the name of a Muslim country attached to us makes us unclean…makes us Muslims as well…so we become Assyrians where we are no such thing…not unless we ACT the part and you Christrians don`t.

Rightly or wrongly, the world spits in our face and tells us, “You have no rights as a minority, because you are not a minority, you are nothing… just disappear.”

…the world gives a shit and knows nothing about us and we don`t want them to know either…we want a Christian enclave in Iraq and can`t hope to get one honestly so we claim we are Assyrian yet do NOTHING Assyrian. We are a Christian sect…that`s all we can prove. Anything more is seriously lacking in any PROOVES…all we do is repeat ad nauseum and we are making everyone sick of us…our own children most of all. If we are nothing it is our own doing…but that isn`t the case…Tariq Aziz and Donny George weren`t “nothing”..but because they won`t sit and wail their pity to the world and instead work in it the way it is…they are traitors..the only real Asssyrian to you Christians is a wailing whinning wussey one…be gone!

How would any similar group of people think, feel, and act, given those same circumstances? How many ways and how many times must these people be put down before it gets tiresome and boring and downright stupid itself?

…no one puts them down but themselves…the city of Chicago was eager to honor us…give us all they could..it was Christians who shot it down…Christians who insist on showing their scabs and picking at them to force pity out of people..you people DO NOT like pride…it goeth before a fall to you…yet you are ever so proud that god speaks to you…fer chrissakes!

Are there any groups of people on the face of this planet that have cornered the market on stupidity?

…Definitely…Assyrian Christians who are neither one nor the other and have made themselves nothing and blame everyone else in the world for it and on top of that are afraid and shamed by their own noble roots…that`s pretty damn stupid.

Every group is composed of human beings, ergo, we have all made stupid mistakes, but what will help us correct those mistakes. Is it really necessary to constantly harp on the negative aspects of the Assyrians? Can’t we at least attempt to say something good about them once in a while?

…you keep confusing the issue…these people are not Assyrians…you can`t be Assyrian just by SAYING it…not even if you say it A LOT! They DO Christian things..they BUILD Christian things..they collect money for CHRISTIAN things…they worship CHRISTAIN gods and not their own…if these people want to claim to be Assyrian let them DO something Assyrian..or as we would expect or wish for an Assyrian to do…in the first place let them stop making a national point of honor of being so damn cowardly and fearful they can`t stand to TALK.

> I don’t think it serves any good purpose to blame the Assyrian people for the military destruction, killing and maiming of the innocent people of Iraq.

…no Assyrian would do such a thing..if an American called for the destruction of America he or she would hardly be considered an American..these are Christians who want their Christian rights…no one EVER took away any Assyrian rights because for one thing they never DID anything Assyrian..they simply confound the two and when they`re spit upon for the kinds of Christian they are…and it is all well earned, they turn around and say they were spat upon for being Assyrians..when and what have they EVER done that was Assyrian to begin with and who ever stopped them…except to teach this nonsense in their “dear” language which they prostitute to the uses of the church and every opportunist who comes along hoping for a contract from Halliburton.

It is pure speculation to assume that most Assyrians supported the war on Iraq. Regardless, of how many Assyrians may have agreed or disagreed with the policies of the Bush administration and the overthrow of Saddam, (and no survey has ever been taken that I know of), it wouldn’t have changed the U.S. position, intent or outcome of their policies. Personally, I believe there are far more Assyrians who opposed the slaughter of innocent Iraqis, Moslems or Christian, than supported the war.

…since the news was filled with lies as well as impure speculation and as most Christians accepted uncritically the news about WMDs and the rest of that nonsense and therefore went on to murder countless innocent people…you`ll forgive me if I speculate right along with the rest of them. It may be…but it will do. We know enough to know voices weren`t raised in opposition…so what good does their silent opposition do? Comission and Omission…remember?

Those Assyrians who spout off about death to anyone who opposes Assyrian rights in Iraq are fewer in number than you can count on the fingers of one hand. The fact that they are so vocal, tells you that they have virtually no support.

…they know that…what they are attempting to do is make themselves the ONLY voice…and steal this Heritage….and however few there are…they have to be opposed vigourously or this noble Heritage will die out…killed by Christians..never by Islam.

> I started out by stating that I had read the following post several times. When I read it the first time, I recognized that there was something there that I too felt angry about, but not in the same way. Those things that I agreed with I saw mostly as the result of circumstances, fate, the natural order, or simply a historical process that just happened. When you actually live through certain experiences, you don’t always sit down and analyze the why and the wherefore. Especially when you are living a simple agrarian existence in an undeveloped part of the world and your day to day existence is not governed by political intrigue, but rather, “how can I help my family survive another day?

…the death and destruction doesn`t come from there…it comes from the Christian West. We know there were direct, deliberate lies…not just “circumstances”.

It’s easy to sit back as an armchair philosopher and toss around thunderbolts, with little or no concern for where they will land.

…then you do it…I don`t go in for “easy”. It`s ever so much easier to believe a Jew flew to heaven and you will too.

Sometimes, those verbal slings and arrows are more devastating than outright physical exchanges between groups or individuals.

Good. Let them work for their slime for a change…no more free ride…no more spouting off whatever you want without a rejoinder..and if you block and ban we´ll drag the corpse we`ll make of your PROVES around the world. In any fair exchange…or just by reading my posts or Tiglath or Jeff or dib or Kikhwa and any number of others who haven`t found their voice yet..these turkeys lose it by a mile and more…and they know that…and so they hope to keep us out and think the world that reads them doesn`t find us on the internet…just that alone is a tremendous first step..that these guys no longer have a monopoly on anything…let them EARN their right to slime the Assyrian heritage…I EARNED mine to defend it.

Still, I had to read it again and again, because I wanted to understand better, the personal aspect of this, post, which seems to run as a common thread through most exchanges between Assyrians, myself included. Your criticism, is very different than most, however. Your posts are the most complex and difficult posts to decipher because of the anger you display.

…that is your problem…not any concern of mine…anger makes you angry…because it exists and maybe calls out to the anger you suppress…like I said, these are your problems…a human, a healthy one, feels pain when he needs to and anger and joy too. I don`t take pills to “regulate” my emotions so I can do better at work…being alive and human IS MY WORK.

Even when the meaning is really subtle, it is often couched in angry terms. Still, when one can get past all that anger, there is a lot of food for thought.

…well good for you…I mean that you can get past anger….where were you raised?

There is more there that is worthy of serious consideration than I have seen anywhere else, with the exception of the religious topic. I will not discuss the religious topic any more on this or any other Forum. It goes nowhere and will always go nowhere.

…neither is it intended to…it is a boondoggle on purpose so you can be sure the minds that believe in it are no longer minds.

> I really had no intention of returning here or to any other Forum. I’m tired of all the mud-slinging from both sides. I do like to exchange views, but the rancor and the bitterness that I saw in myself as well as in others has tempted me to just walk away and never turn back. I might still do that.

…do it. No one needs another nervous Nellie. I do this on purpose too…if you are made of pudding go puddle somewhere else. There is serious work to be done in the world…save yourself for heaven.

> One last thing, Farid, no more concessions, please! That ticked me off more than anything else you ever said in your posts. If you want to get rid of me, just tell me to screw off… I do a greatest disappearing act.

…disappear anywhere and anytime you want to…go to heaven or to hell…I want nothing from you…I sure as hell need nothing from you…your “agony” I find funny…your moral quagmires and pisterns and scumulousness I think is cute. I said I conceded that fact that you are a religious idiot and not worth talking to on that level…no one is…god himself is a jackass when he explains himself…you are becoming a little tiresome in your promises to disappear and then resurfacing to disappear again…but it`s your life and this is your forum as much as it is mine…when I want to ignore you, I will.
