AlJazeera is reporting that the Iraqi Defense Minister that will be appointed by the U.S. is Kurd.

Isn't this worrisome? Did anyone hear who it is from the grapevine?

...when the defense minister or was it the UN rep was an Assyrian name of Tariq Aziz...these guys were crying...now they get a Kurd and they aren`t any happier. Since Aziz was a Christian, why were they so upset? Was it that he worked for a Muslim? Hell Iraq IS Muslim. Maybe that`s all their problem is.

...it amazes me that people think you can starve and beat people into submission, that peace and good times can come at the end of a gun barrel...when has it EVER worked?

Peace came after the Second World war but millions were killed and whole economies and the landscpae destroyed. Surely there are better ways?
