the notion that I hate people and am very angry at Assyrians because my poor sculptures didnīt get what I think they deserved is such nonsense itīs mind boggling...shows me what Iīm dealing with even more. In the first place, I didnīt SUFFER anything...these are the things that come your way when you stand apart and go down a different road...like Jesus got and the first guy to suggest cooking meat...anyone who steps on the established toes of any establishment is gonna get it...we know that already...anyone expecting to be loved for speaking his or her mind is nuts. I will admit I was shocked by how deep the self-loathing of these sorts of Assyrians goes...but I was more pleased to find there are others who feel as I do but have been hesitant to speak up...you can see why....anyway, let him tell it.....

William,

You probably know better than I do what to expect from Mr. Parhad in the exchange I proposed. I felt, however, that perhaps if we gave him a chance to engage in an exchange on this one very important and vital issue, which seems to be at the center of much of the discord among Assyrians today, that it might help all of us to move on to resolve other problems of more immediate concern.

...you might ask Wm and Petey too why they banned Tiglath...who has NEVER cussed anyone and always been polite...and why YOU took such fright at the idea that I was "influencing young people the wrong way"...meaning any way that isnīt your way. It isnīt four letter words that have ever been the real problem..itīs the inability of these hysterians and experts to deal with basic, simple un-Christian and non-religious ideas...thas all.

The way I see it, our opposing views are totally incompatible, and we will probably not be able to find any common ground on which we can agree. Nevertheless, I wanted to let him know that I am willing to exchange my views with him, if we could filter his four-letter words through this Forum.

...you will admit this is a sudden turnaround from your fear of being tainted just yesterday...but power to you...thereīs always hope.

The historical perspective you posted is certainly worthy of consideration and debate and I am sure many other Assyrians can contribute additional information. It would be far better if we could exchange our views on some of these core issues that arouse such deep feelings and emotions among our people. The exchange of invective, insults and accusations leads all of us down a blind alley.

...not really. Invective, insultsm sly hints about peopleīs chastity and children and parents and employers has been the stock in trade of these people and their forums...with their moderators slapping their hands once in a while. Theyīre just pissed cause it didnīt work...cause I got them back worse..it isnīt my style...but I can do it better than they can. When Aprim "hinted" that he was going to tell everyone what I do with my children...sure that I would run...I came back with the opinion that it couldnīt be any worse than the time he and I were caught French-kissiing in the toilet at the Greyhound Bus Depot...a few days later...not only did he not mention my children...but he turned in his resignation, said no one loved him and took off for a year to go to Syria...where I gather you can French-kiss in peace. Iīll dish out whatever you want...you want to fight dirty...better beware...you want talk...letīs do her.

My impression of Mr. Parhad is that he is a man consumed by anger and resentment.

..I gather then you believe Bush is a man consumed with love and compassion?

From the little that I know about him, his feelings may have considerable merit, but only if they were directed toward the individuals that are responsible for the injustice that he has suffered.

...I "suffered" no injustice...I experienced LIFE as an Assyrian...one who is NOT impressed by Christian claims of saving us and sees instead how degraded we have become..and I am indeed, not alone..

Though I may not like him personally or agree with him on issues, I would take his side on those matters where he has been wronged by other Assyrians.

...Assyrians didnīt wrong me...Christians did...because I called to the Assyrians to STAND UP and Christians prefer to be on their knees...when not at our throats. I donīt need you or anyone on "my" side...you need you to be on your side. This is hardly a three year vendetta against "Assyrians" for not loving me...come on.

Mr. Parhad is not the only prominent Assyrian who has suffered unjustly at the hands of other Assyrians.

...I am not prominant...we have no prominant Assyrians...we break their legs long before they get there...successful Assyrians AS ASSYRIANS ruin the franchise.

Many others who might have helped our cause were also driven away by self-serving Assyrians who tried to exploit them. I am aware of this problem and I understand that talented individuals, are often high strung, and possess a temperment that does not suffer fools for very long.

...seems to me Iīve tolerated the whole lot of for years now with no sweat...I keep trying to reach out and I DO reach people..which scares you all the most...I donīt need any favors or understanding from you...I donīt like cowards...not even when they prance around in borrowed clothes...donīt forget...you are afrid of your own ifdentity...most Christian Assyrians are...Iīm not Christian...I am Assyrian.

I am powerless to remedy that problem though. I do believe, however, that for every Assyrian like that, there must be at least five or ten who will sacrifice everything for you, if you just meet them half way.

...I donīt do sacrifice...I do Life.
