someone posted suggestions for how to make the north a viable setting for Christians...and everything he described was ALREADY there! Now it`s gone. And what was gained? Will there be MORE security for Christians there now? And oddly enough...most Christians were doing just fine..it`s these nut cases who feel slighted that they can`t run a country or take away sopmeone`s home who talked the loudest and are still at it screwing things up for all the people of BetNahrain.

Iraq was on its way..it was grwoing, building, raking in the cash, investing...and then this. And from this destruction and the anger and hatreds let loose in Iraqi society not to mention the clerics...we really think a bright new day is dawning???

In Response To: Re: repopulating northern iraq (Assyrians are lazy)

Provide subsidized housing in the villages. For example, if 100 housing units were built in 150 villages, there would be the potential of housing 75,000 people (5 people per household at 15,000 units) If each house cost $30,000 it would result in a goal of raising 3 million dollars per village for housing. But we could work with NGO's, the Iraqi Gov, the UN Habitat, other org for contributions.

Also a system could be put in place where the occupants borrow the money and if factories are created, part of their pay check would be deducted for the financing of their unit.
So there are ways to motivate Assyrians to move and to work. But the issue is do we have the competitive edge to make the north economically competitive in trade. (Quality of products, wage, transportation cost, raw material cost, etc) However, I think Agriculture and Livestock could be a beginning, then manufacturing and trade, then Goverment and services, and hopefully in the future tourism.

Infrastructural necessities and Urban planning should be cleverly devised to provide strategic and economic success.

All a dream (I know)!!!! Sad.

...it was all there..the infrastructure..the development...the agriculture, the palm groves..the parks in the cities. It was again you fucking villagers where your priests fill your heads with garbage where the attacks against you people originated..because in those basement madrassahs your idiot priests use the language of Jesus and the churches themselves as a pretext to teach sedition..and no country will allow that, let alone one that has seen foreign Christian occupiers before and also saw you Christian thugs going to work for them against the very people who let you into the country when you were escaping for your lives..people who are desecnded from the same stock for all your Christian nonsense. Who WOULDN`T have moved against those villages?
