a good friend of ours told me that, in essence, one day when I`d waxed on a little too much about Ashur. He said..."you can`t really believe that can you?". My point exactly. That must have been the reaction of Assyrians to those among them who came back spouting about a Jew Messiah they had to eat and drink that would buy them eternal life with the Jew god etc. Their parents or friends must have responded with the same disbelief.."you can`t really mean that"??!!

It is absurd isn`t it? I mean all of a sudden yammering about a new god to your own people. How else would you expect people to respond? What`s funny is that I`m an Assyrians expressing respect for the idea of Ashur...whom we all know is the god of the Assyrians...and I`m being greeted with dismay and incredulousness..while he, as a Christian, thinks nothing of calling my convictions into question as being a bit weird...while he thinks it`s perfectly normal to believe in a guy the Jews gave us..and not even the Jews..that the Romans stuffed up our arses.
