I hate to burst your bubble, but you should never open your summary of a vague opinion with "the fact remains that..." unless it ends with the following "...I believe (and this is ONLY my opinion and not accepted fact) that ... blah blah blah."

It's amazing how unhinged we become when arguing hot-button topics. People get so worked up and do crazy things like threaten women and doctors, and even bomb abortion clinics.

You two will never reconcile your positions unless you begin from the same point. There MUST be some middle ground...even if it is just 1% of the edge of a tiny fragment of something that you can both agree on...and then you can dive off in opposite directions from there... but keep in mind that civilized people begin the debate with the middle ground that they can agree on and detail their interpretations thereafter. Or they just bomb Afghanistan and Iraq...in that order.
