I think the answer to your question about "how did the death of one man in Serbia cause WWI?" can be answered if we analyse the imperialist interests several European countries had at the time. Germany was itching to expand and had been for ages, she used the assassination of the Austrian Archduke as a front for her expanisonist policies, thus sparking WWI.
WHat they don't teach you in High School is that the assassination of the Austrian WAS NOT THE CAUSE of the fucking War, and that imperialism, expansion, and the ceaseless quest for more fucking profit, cheaper labor and resources IS.
Fuck Capitalism and Fuck the fact that oil is more precious than blood. The only way to get rid of US forces in Iraq, in Cuba and in three quarters of the world, is to abolish this system of greed and illusion.
