In the absence of the Objective Truth as taught by the very same orthodox Christianity against which Parhad rails in his foolishness, how are we to decide which of two possible actions is preferable?

His answer is provided to him by the only philosophical system ever devised in America, the nation he loves: Moral Pragmatism...which maintains, essentially, that the value of ideas is determined solely by their consequences.

Developed by 19th-century American philosophers, this philosophical doctrine holds that the test of a truthis its practicality; the effect of an idea are more important than its origin. It asserts that value is AS inherent in MEANS as in ENDS.

Today, without a moral compass like Christianity to gauge our direction, "DOES IT WORK?" has replaced "IS IT RIGHT?" as the question to ask in everything from morality, war, business decisions and lifestyle choices.

If it works for YOU....then by all means go right ahead.

Therefore, the only question about abortion is whether the pregnancy is "wanted". If not, then flush it away. Is your marriage working? If not, then divorce the bitch. Does that colon feel tight against your cock? If so, stick it in.

The 1960s adage, "If it feels good, do it," has been revised for the 21st-century: "If it feels good, or it works for you, do it."

The problem with this sort of morality is that it also plays into the very hands of those who are vilified on this forum. Moral Pragmatisim can just as easily be used to justify Sanctions on a country whose leader is no longer serving your interest.

If the ultimate ends is the replacement of the offending party, then the means which obtained that end are justified even if a little "collateral damage" occurs. What's a few kids lost due to lack of $1.50 medicine? Would the removal of Saddam and other obstacles in the way of securing our "natural resources" and "security, so that civilization could advance" not be worth a few darkie children?

When pre-born babies began to be sacrificed on the altar of Feminism, for the pragmatic sake of sexual freedom....when innocents began to pay the ultimate price so that men and women can frolic about without worry of consequences or responsibility....those of us who *knew* knew that already-born children were next...were going to be sacrificed on other altars of moral pragmatism in the very near future.
