of course you are leaving out the central point...the Assyrian king is not slitting the throat of his own child...his priests are not calling for their people to kill their OWN children...what Tiglath is objecting to is the idea that Assyrians pray to a god who says THEIR children deserve to be killed...not the children of an enemy...

do you really not grasp the central points being made? Is it just that you have to say SOMETHING and seek to add fuel to the flames by slandering our Heritage even MORE...as a way of proving exactly what?

I say the Jews had nothing to do with us...not because they were more cruel...though when they had their brief chance they were nasty enough with NO redeeming graces...but that the central theme of Judaism and Christianity had nothing in common with Ashur.

The Epic is our bible more than your Testicles are. Our belief system expressley puts aside this yearning for immortality as silly and a waste of valuable time as well as an almost criminal neglect of ones responsibilities HERE on earth...to one's wife and child...something lost on you..as well as to ones city, country and duty thereof.

This is so obviously lacking adn ANATHEMA to your Jew stuff...and we can see why...of COURSE the Hebrews wanted to go somewhere else..of COURSE they needed heavenly hosts...where we had our own..of course someone had to come save them and part them when they were busy burying their knives in each other's wives...it is perfectly clear that the Hebrews were USED to ptacticing infanticide and child ritual murder..it is clear they believed in the scapegoat as a way of cleansing themselves of their own sins..by also heaping those sins on an Innocent and killing HIM. None of this has a thing to do with our people and their own culture and religion...even IF a guy from Mesopotamia goes to isarel and goes ape shit whern he gets there...what does that have to do with the rest of us who had no desire to go live in THAT hellhole?

No one here said the Assyrians were lambs ALL the time...they could not have been and expected to survive...just as millenia later YOU can't survive unless someone kills for you and starves children for you...we also pointed out that recent scholarship, stripped of the bias towards our people you still revel in, suspects that the more grizzly accounts you've lifted were used for propaganda purpose, as you use them to smear us although their original and intended purpose was to discourage people from following the lead of those who would incite them to rebel..often so they could get back into power no matter WHAT they cost the average person. They do not suspect this because they are Assyrian and want to improve our image...they do so because these accounts don't square with the many instances when Assyrians made a point of ONLY punishing those who rebelled...and at that only the leaders..and of the texts of Assyrian ambassadors standing at the gates of beseiged cities TELLING the people to give up the ringleaders and all will be forgotten.

The empire the Assyrians built and all they built with it could NOT have been built by people with no fingers and toes and eyes...they kept and used and put to work all the people they vanquised...they gave them security from others just as eager to chop them up...and in return these people lived in the highest civilization and among the greatest people of their time...and many, many of them, like the Hebrews...who when they had the chance to escape or return..chose to stay right where they were...why?

While the Hebrews were sent back by their god to kill every man woman and child, including he that pisseth against a wall...Sennakherib forgave the Babylonians twice for their costly rebellion..for the wasted lives and ruined resources AND for leaving the empire open to attack...from any direction. This is a grave offense...look at what we JUST did to 500,000 children who NEVER rebelled against America.

Sennakherib did not slit the throat of his own eldest son...he destroyed Babylon when THEY killed his son...and only after their third rebellion...and you may wish to add that his other son, Ashurhaddon rebuilt the city and reinstated their gods and addmitted them to all their previous rights and privilleges, he did not heap brimestone and shes on the ruins and damn the chhildren of the children for ALL time. What in god's name had the children of the Sodomites and those of Gommorah done to deserve being burned alive?

...The Assyrians were willing to pay the price that had to be paid for there to BE a Cradle of Civilization at all! Back then there was no other way...and their very words and faith and belief said so plain and clear...they practised what they preached...do Christian nations...do Christian kings...do Christian presidents?

Had those kings smiled at every rebellion...Western Civilization would have had to wait on someone else. It wasn't a price the Assyrians LOVED paying...the brutality needed to keep people cowed and awed and pulling together, even if forced to at first, wasn't of their choosing...they found other ways to make the crops grow than sacrificing their own children...but the realities on the ground...the abundant wealth and culture they developed meant that they also had the richest prize worth having at a time when people weren't that particular about how they got what belonged to other people...it is sad...but true.

For you to use this and twist it to suit your agenda of washing clean the filth of your religion for its crimes TODAY and saying we IMPROVED when Abe moved us to Israel and then brought CHRIST to us BACK THEN...well.
