Assyrian Idol would find the parents fighting over Simnele in the parking lot and the contestants all late because body parts wouldn!t fit in inappropraite dresses or tangled gold chains twined in chest hairs...I too can recall wondering why Assyrian parents would talk through performances by bright eyed, eager to please yougsters...our people believe that an interest in the arts should be a passing phase, an error on the road to a lifetime spent accounting and the best way to get the kid through this difficult time is talk to their neighbor when the performance starts about things that could have waited 45 minutes or thirty years.

You Chaldeans are so fortunate to at least be plagued by only ONE religious sect...the Assyrian have 500...no, wait, a new one just arrived in Burbank...wait, there goes another one..
