no one in history...no one ever...no one anywhere, has killed more Christians than Christians....has killed more people than Christians and has done it on the slightest pretext than Christians...look at them.

one quote from the article stands out....

"Coull said he is in particular interested in the role missionaries play in genocide.
They need to be aware of their role and they need to be aware that spreading their faith only instigates more killing," he said. "Their role needs to be redefined."

...their role IS to get people killed...by bringing god and his saving graces into war.

I have a good topic for a thesis...just how did the Romans REALLY spread Christianity? And did ANY culture anywhere willingly throw away religions, gods and customs they`d developed over hundreds of years just because they heard of a Jew? And...what of all the cultures these missionaries went to WITHOUT an army to soften the people up...how did Christ do there? AND, how come when an opposing religion came along, also with an army, people so desperately in love with Jesus just be HEARING about him...switched over when they heard about someone else?

I think incalculable harm was done to people all over the Roman world who were forced to adopt the Empire`s State Religion as part of its ongoing attempt to impose Imperialsm for the sake of a pax Romana which simply meant a wasteland where a rich variety of cultures used to be...and Christianity is the ideal religion for slaves...and slaves build empires and maintain them.

The fact that Christianity was native to NO ONE and practiced least of all by those who spread it through force of arms, could account for the fact that Christians, as a religious group, have been the most savage people this earth has seen..because NONE of their dogma came to them naturally, evolving from their own cultural experience.

Just the fact that the Roman Empire, where insane emperors were already claiming to be gods on earth while they waded in the human gore of people who`d never harmed them, saw a use in Christianity and adopted it...when there was NOTHING in Roman culture remotely similar to it, should give people grave doubts that this religion was a "natural fit" wherever the legions took it.

Instead we have stories of that Roman soldier who struggles with himself as he gives in to the strangest damn religion he ever heard of, as you can see by his expression in any number of movies that scene is interjected into. It`s a pretty myth..but a lie all the same. The adoption of Christianty with its Jew Messiah was the farthest thing from Rome`s experience, except insofar as they recognized Yahwe for an even more insane Caligula than they knew...and they liked that part. The rest of it...the willingness to be meek and humble and wait till death for your rewards on earth...that was so clever they could have kicked themselves for not thinking of it sooner.

What better "religion" could there be than one that just so happens to make slaves not only resigned to their lot in life but GLAD to sacrifice their most important things on the altar of Christ..where they may have grumbled about turning over all they had to Nero.

People were forced into the arms of the Church...cultural memories were stripped away and blotted out in one or two generations, with only vague hints of what went before surviving here and there, variations sometimes allowed by the authorities, if they didn`t go too far into "heresyland", because they enabled the newly forced converts some consolations for all that had been stripped from them. And the fact that nothing in the religion`s dogma was at all familiar to them, was used by Rome as a sign of the MIRACULOUSNESS of a religion that could so sweep people off their feet while being TOTALLY foreign to them..they made a "miracle", transforming the violence they used against defeated and cowed people, into their willing and beatific transformation "all by themselves" into Christians who were actually KILLED into Christ.

Christians have no soul..no central core....this is the reason they can murder people for THINKING about murdering them...there is no moral compass that was formed from WITHIN the people...the religious dogma being completely foreign to them. The notion that there is one god and he is your emperor in whose pay and in your loyalty to, you are allowed to kill any number of people who don`t measure up...and you need not fear sleeping well the next day because you are doing his work, is a lethal weapon to place in the hands of people the church also insisted must remain ignorant and easily led by officials who "speak" to god and get instructions from him...and it is good work too..to bring everyone under the yoke of the Roman Emperor in this relatively "harmless" manner...it`s just SINGING...isn`t it? What`s so bad about singing?

Hardly anyone would take to the religion if it wasn`t shoved down their throat at birth and everyone knows it. The rationale given now is that however it happened, you`re a Christian so run with it, it`s better than the others around. But how it happened is THE point for it didn`t happen as these things are meant to. You can`t violate a woman...implant a seed in her and expect the child to grow better because he or she grows up ignorant of the kind of "Father" who would do such a thing.

If people knew how they REALLY came to Christ..they might see in the violence done to their ancestors the origin of the violence they themselves are willing to bring to other people...also believing that in the end...being brought to Jesus in ANY way is still better than never hearing of him. That`s why they`re so damn bloody..the more so the more they talking about "sharing" the message of Jesus. The message ABOUT Jesus is that it`s okay to kill someone if YOU get a benefit from it. That`s exactly what the Roman`s did...and we`ve been won over to that way of expressing "love of god".
