.......Paul a very biased Christin missionary is writing here. Read between his lines. There was clearly peace and religous toleration between all the religions in the Persian Empire.
What other reason could there be for alarm by the Zoroastrian high priest if not beause some Persians were being forced or co-erced into a religion they had no intention of joining.

.....If that's your objective reading of that quote then I apologise but your very wrong. King Yazdegred was in fact so tolerant of Christianity that more than one Christian writers have written about him.

"In 399, a more tolerant Persian king, Yezdegerd I, came to the throne and the Romans again sought peace by sending an embassy seeking a treaty. An edict of toleration was signed in 409 giving toleration to Christians in the Persian Empire.."

.........It was not for lack of trying that it didn't and you know it. you've read the book Paul. Just what do you think Pax Mongolicca was?

Why would the church of the East consecrate Mar Yaballaha III - a Mongolian - who ruled the Church of the East from 1281 until his death in 1318?

It was because they wanted to co-opt one of the most bloodthirsty armies the world has ever seen. The Mongolians for Ashur's sake. Are you seriously telling me that the Church of the east control of the Mongolian hordes
would've been a good thing? Are you seriously telling me that our idiot Mar Ignoramus' would not have forced the entire east to accept their unique brand of Christianty?

C'mon Paul.
