Paul, Just fyi... when speaking of abortions in America, it is not all about white fetuses as you said in a previous post, for the majority of abortions are by minorties. The problem here is that the prochoice people are right that if you did not allow people in poverty to have abortions they become shackled to the poverty especially unwed mothers with many children, and in inner city poverty with out the emotional family support in a lot of todays families, rich and poor and inbetween, some girls dont' even realize that they use sex to feel loved, important, wanted and then they have a baby to young to ever accomplish anything to really feel good about themselves, so for those girls abortion may give them a chance to go to college, find a man to marry before having children, make a living without welfare etc... so that is the postive side of the prochoice keeping abortion legal. And it has some merit, but I, like you, am pained spiritually and deeply, at the thought of powerful men and their sucking machine, ripping apart a helpless innocent child and the horror of that being their intro and exit into the world of neurological experience for any fetus more than a month or two surely has sensation and the more into the gestation the more it struggles and the more it has some kind of cognitive senstaion, probably at the primitive brain stem level since cognition probably does not start in earnest until you have significant sensory input... and my guess is that horrific process shocks them into a form of cognitive struggle and the thought of that haunts me, and that is why at heart I am prolife even though I also feel bad for and my heart goes out to the girls in situations taht they feel they need the choice to survive... it is another of those things that the more populated humanity is, just the more of these inherent injustices like the injustices of rich vs poor, industrial powers vs workers, impearialistic powers vs undeveloped countries who they opress for their resources, etc etc... people are corruptable, greedy, selfish as well as compassionate, loving, giving, and when you have overpopulation the former comes out... and we all just live with it.. don't we... just like more than likely you are just going to have to live with abortions being legal... that genie is out of the bottle and the powers to be will preach morality but they know it is actually best for society to keep in check its overpopulation, high welfare ranks, poverty and crime ranks due to the burden of poverty and ignorance and lack of real education... so they will keep it legal cause the world has already corrupted its soul for the almighty dollar and for our high civilized lifestyles... probably similar to what your OT bible writers complained about sodom and gomora jewish popultion, the fall of babylon, fall of rome, etc etc.. you can't be spiritually pure and reap the benefits of civilization... so in a way, as much as i too want it illegal and have a deep pain thinking about it existing, it is the price all our souls pay for being civilized.. just like wars.. but just like terrorism has come back to kick us in the ass for all imperalistic and corporate pillaging of europe and us over the centuries, and aids kick us in the ass for promiscous lifestyles, and pollution will kick us in teh ass one day with a run away global warming ruining our environment, and crime and drug use in inner cities kicks us in the ass for all the corporate and industrial abuses of human workers and the greed o the rich getting filthy rich while the poor waller in poverty... not to mention how bad it was in places like NYC a hundred years or more ago.. beyond squalar some people lived in.. but for irish immigrants a step up from famine and poverty in ireland and now that poverty that leads to crime and drug use is biting us in the ass moving into the suburbs.. and more things will bite us in the ass from physicists like myself, ego to find unknowns and solve mysteries that led us to nuclear age where we can destroy all humanity a hundred times over and even dropped a couple.. still wondering if those 2 will bite us in the ass one day when the family of those loss exact revenge one day... and communism's greedy expansion made osama and we initially supported him to stop that and now created a monster that is biting us in the ass... and one day some how some way, i don't know how... but all these abortions will kick us in the ass too... these things always do.
